Sale of Pre-owned instruments (sellers)

The terms and conditions regarding the sale of pre-owned instruments can be found on the website or here

 

Sale of New/Pre-Owned Instruments (buyers)

All pre-owned/new instruments are sold with a 30 day return period  (30 Calender days) from the date of dispatch unless otherwise agreed. During this time if you decide the instrument is not suitable you should contact us within 30 days of dispatch to arrange to return the instrument for a refund. Return postage costs are not refunded. We reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee to ensure the recorder is hygienically cleaned on return. Repair charges are deducted if the instrument is returned in a condition that has differed since the sale e.g. damaged. We reserve the right to refuse a refund after the 30 days. After 30 days an instrument can be returned to be resold under the conditions of selling a pre-owned instrument. 

Pre-owned wooden instruments are entitled to a check and service within 3 months of purchase or 12 months of purchase (for new wooden instruments) to allow time for the instrument to be played. After which time natural movement of the wood is expected and it is normal for the sound of an instrument to change.  This service is only valid for instrument where the care guidelines have been followed and no other parties have worked on the instrument. Additional damage or the presence of excessive mould or dried saliva will result in a charge for the service. Return postage costs are not included.A standard chargable service is availble after any included service period expires.

Plastic instrument (new or pre-owned) do not require a follow up service. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

Returns policy

We hope that you will be delighted with your purchase, we understand that on occasion you may wish to return an item. All goods sold are covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which allow for a 14 day 'cooling off' period during which you may cancel your order (in writing) by sending us a letter or e-mail at any time up to and including the 14th working day after the day on which you received your purchase. Having notified us that you wish to cancel your order, goods must be returned to RecorderShopLondon.co.uk within 14 days after date of receiving the item, for a refund or exchange, provided that:

  • The goods are returned in the same condition they were sold, including all original packaging materials.
  • The goods are a normal stock item and have not been specially ordered at the customer's request.
  • A valid receipt or proof of purchase is produced. The item purchase price will be refunded within 14 days of cancellation - delivery charges are non refundable unless the goods are faulty.

New or Used instruments are subject to the condition above with an extended 30 day trial period. An instrument may be returned within this time providing it has not been excessively played or damaged in anyway. RecorderShopLondon.co.uk reserves the right to deduct any charges from any refundable amount if work or service is deemed necessary upon the return of an instrument.

The item purchase price will be refunded within 14 days of cancellation - delivery charges are non refundable unless the goods are faulty.

Description Of Goods

We take every care to ensure that the descriptions and photographic images of our products are representative of the items and are correct at the time of going to press. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for any variation in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used by you.

Stock Availability

Please note that while we make every effort to update the website as frequently as possible, on rare occasions stock advertised on the site may sell out before it can be removed. We will of course inform you as soon as possible when such instances occur and an estimated delivery date, refund or replacement can be given.

Prices

All prices quoted on this website are accurate at the time of publication. We reserve the right to alter the price at any time.

 

Delivery information

Delivery Costs

We typically use standard Royal Mail postal services such as 1st or 2nd class post. There is a minimum postage and packaging charge of £4.99. Total postage costs are calculated for each individual order. Orders are typically dispatched within 3-5 days.

When purchasing used instruments with a value over £50, Special delivery must be chosen at the checkout.

If items are out of stock or are to be delivered later than expected we will contact you as soon as possible. New or pre-owned Instruments may require additional time to allow for checks before being posted.

 

International Orders

Buyers from outside the UK (Since 1st January 2021 this includes the EU and, in some cases, Northern Ireland) are responsible for checking import charges e.g. Customs charges, import charges, VAT etc before placing any order. Information can be found from local government sources. Any parcel rejected by buyers due to non-payment of such charges may be held in customs, returned, or destroyed at the discretion of customs departments. In the event of non-payment of import charges Recorder Shop London will only issue refunds once the items have been returned. Any charges relating to the return of items will be deducted from the refund amount.

Buyers are responsible for any fees relating to international payments or currency conversion.

 

CITIES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora)

Since January 1st 2021 the CITIES regulations around the trade of certain items also applies to UK to EU exports (regulations also apply to exports to Northern Ireland). Items containing Ivory will not be exported from the UK. Musical instruments containing Rosewood can be exported only in cases where the species of Rosewood can be confirmed. Musical Instruments containing Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra) will not be exported.

Packaging

RecorderShopLondon.co.uk makes every effort to use recycled packaging materials where possible.

Damaged Items

We take every care to package your order so it arrives safely, however if your items arrive damaged, please let us know via email or our contact form within 24 hours and we will arrange a full refund or replacement where possible. After this time we cannot accept responsibility for damage reported.

We may ask you to take a photograph of the damaged item and the packaging it arrived in. All original packaging is to be retained as may be required for postage compensation.
